This is my last How to be a wildly effective compliance officer column. After eight years of monthly sharing, the time has come for me to retire it.
I’ve loved writing this column. It’s given me so much to reflect on. For my final column, I want to share my best advice for having a wildly effective career in our profession.
Prioritize learning
New laws and prosecutions will always occur, disclosure requirements will increase, regulatory expectations will shift, and there will always be more to learn.
This profession attracts readers and seekers. If you’re reading this, you’re likely one of them. Go to conferences, read blogs, listen to podcasts, and scan newspapers every day. Being a lifelong learner means that you’ll always know what’s happening.
