Are you fresh out of compliance training ideas? As much as we compliance officers hate to admit it, compliance is not the most interesting topic, and it can be difficult to come up with new ideas for engaging material. Below are a few thoughts for when the creative juices are running low.
Use the news
Check the local and national news. Even if the story is not directly related to healthcare compliance, there are often lessons to be learned that can easily be related to compliance. Check the United States Department of Justice news releases,[1] the Department of Health & Human Services Office of Inspector General enforcement actions page,[2] or the HIPAA News Releases page.[3] Try to find stories that are relevant to your organization and share them. Pull relevant information from the sources you use to stay current.
