Japan overhauls labor laws

New rules governing how Japan’s workforce handles overtime, time tracking, employee health, and other labor issues will go into effect April 1, 2019. The rules are meant to address the serious issue of overworking and also allow for more flexibility with visas within the workforce in order to address Japan’s shrinking labor pool.
