1Gabriel Imperato is managing partner at the Fort Lauderdale office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. He is the team leader of the firm’s Health Care Criminal and Civil Enforcement, Litigation and Compliance Practice. He has practiced healthcare law in both the public and private sectors for more than 40 years. He is board certified as a specialist in health law by The Florida Bar. Imperato recently served as the general counsel of the North Broward Hospital District, the tenth largest healthcare system in the United States. He has also served as deputy chief counsel for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of the General Counsel.
