Patient Privacy Court Case: June 2020

Stacey Lavette Hendricks was sentenced to 48 months in prison for aggravated identity theft and wire fraud in Florida.[1] On May 5, 2019, U.S. Secret Service agents learned from a confidential source that Hendricks, who worked at a medical marijuana clinic in Mount Dora, Florida, was taking pictures of clinic patients’ personally identifiable information with her cell phone and selling it for $100 each without the knowledge or permission of the patients.
