Patient Privacy Court Case: August 2022

On April 29, the Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis in Missouri granted preliminary approval of a proposed settlement agreement that requires BJC Healthcare, a nonprofit healthcare organization, to make funds available to cover claims from affected individuals up to a maximum of $5,000, to provide two years of credit monitoring and identity theft insurance to affected individuals and to commit more than $2.6 million to cover the cost of implementing multifactor authentication and other remedial actions.[1]
