The HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) has released a tracker that tracks its recommendations and potential savings.[1]

In a new MLN Matters (13485), CMS reiterates that the appropriate use criteria (AUC) program for advanced diagnostic imaging is on hold for 2024 per the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule rule. CMS rescinded the AUC regulation and is putting the program on pause while it considers next steps. Congress created the AUC program to “increase the appropriateness of advanced diagnostic imaging,” such as computed tomography and nuclear medicine.[2]
