Whenever I travel abroad, I make sure to learn at least a few key phrases that will be helpful during my trip. Whether it’s saying hello, ordering coffee (the equivalent of breathing for me), or thanking someone for giving me directions, knowing a few basic phrases helps to ensure a successful trip and to establish a good relationship with the local people I will be with during my stay.
