In an MLN Fact Sheet released June 17,[1] CMS visually explained how hospitals should use Medicare forms with patients being admitted to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). CMS noted, however, that during the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), the requirement for a three-day inpatient hospital stay before a SNF admission has been waived. The PHE will continue through late July and may be renewed for another 90 days, although it’s unclear at this point.
