Common Rule Implementation Date Set to January 2019

As RRC was going to press, 17 government agencies, including HHS, published a final rule officially establishing July 19 of this year as the effective date and Jan. 21, 2019, as the compliance date of the revised Common Rule. Three “burden-reducing” provisions may be implemented as of the effective date. These timelines are the same as those in a proposed rule published in April (RRC 5/18, p. 1).
