British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold a general election in December that will, hopefully, decide the course of Brexit once and for all. The election will pit Johnson, his Conservative Party, and their stance of a quick Brexit from Europe against Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party. A coalition of groups call for, at the minimum, a measured and steady departure from the European Union. Several groups call for another referendum[1] to decide if the U.K. should leave the EU at all.
Corbyn and Johnson will also debate the economy, healthcare and other issues besides Brexit. The election will take place during the first week of December.
In related news, Chemical Watch obtained a report[2] detailing the U.K. chemical industry’s concerns regarding Brexit, including rising costs, falling competitiveness, regulatory divergence and supply chain disruption.
