Tools: Preventing Short Stays and Reviewing Documentation for Two-Midnight Rule Compliance

Here are electronic forms that help ChristianaCare promote compliance with the two-midnight rule and prevent medically unnecessary short stays.[1] The academic health system, with hospitals and practices in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland, has a two-midnight rule alert, which is a hard stop for physicians at discharge, and retrospective review of documentation.
