NSF Adds New Questions to Project Reports
Effective Oct. 5, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will add several new questions to its online project reporting system to reflect changes in annual and final research progress performance reports. A new question applicable to projects reporting “active other support” will ask if the principal investigators or project directors have experienced a change in active other support since the previous report. If so, “they will be required to upload their most up-to-date Current and Pending Support document in an NSF-approved format,” NSF announced Sept. 29.
Also as of Oct. 5, NSF will add three new questions to the "Impact" and "Changes/Problems" tabs of the reports. These are: “What was the impact on teaching and educational experiences?”, “What percentage of the award’s budget was spent in a foreign country?” and “Has there been a change in primary performance site location from that originally proposed?” The agency also noted that its current and pending support website provides additional information and FAQs, including related to NSF-approved formats for submitting information.
