◆ Arkansas-based MedEvolve, a provider of practice management software to physicians and health facilities, said a health care data breach at one of its customers, Premier Immediate Medical Care, may have affected more than 200,000 current and former patients of Premier. Premier said it discovered in May that a file transfer protocol server containing a file with information on Premier patients was accessible to the internet from March 29 to May 4, and was accessed by an unauthorized third party on March 29. In addition, a screenshot of the accessible file—one containing the first names, cities, states and zip codes of 15 patients—was posted online in an article regarding the incident, MedEvolve said. Information contained in the file included names, addresses, phone numbers, health insurance information and Social Security numbers for some patients.
