Patient Privacy Court Case: May 2023

On Feb. 7, the Broward County, Florida, Circuit Court granted preliminary approval of a proposed settlement agreement that requires NuLife Med LLC, a New Hampshire-based HIPAA covered entity that provides in-home medical equipment and supplies to patients recovering from orthopedic and podiatric surgeries, to compensate class members for resolving a class-action dispute arising from a data breach.[1]
