Next Generation Analytics: Using Data in a JW Modifier Analysis

Here’s an example of how hospitals can pull data to do a deep dive into the JW modifier, which is used on Medicare claim forms to indicate drug waste.[1] This kind of next-generation analytics can improve the productivity of compliance auditing, according to Landon Adkins, associate director and healthcare advanced analytics lead with Protiviti, a consulting firm, and Jarod Baccus, a director and healthcare next-gen internal audit solutions leader with Protiviti.
