Beyond Reps Inc. d/b/a IronRod Health and Cardiac Monitoring Services (IronRod) agreed to pay $673,200 to settle false claims allegations over remote cardiac monitoring services, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York said Feb. 3.[1] IronRod, which is based in Phoenix, Arizona, allegedly used technicians who lacked required credentials to conduct remote cardiac monitoring readings between Jan. 1, 2018, and April 30, 2021. The U.S. attorney’s office also alleged “IronRod misrepresented that it performed services in New York State in order to obtain higher reimbursements from Medicare for remote cardiac monitoring services” between June 1, 2018, and Aug. 20, 2018. The case was set in motion by a whistleblower.
