Giving thanks

The end of the year is fast approaching, and it’s a perfect time to reflect on what we have accomplished, and most importantly, what we are thankful for. Notwithstanding our families and loved ones, we can be thankful for myriad things in our career and workplace that bring us a sense of satisfaction and success.

I am thankful for our wonderful professional organization — HCCA (Health Care Compliance Association) and its sister organization: SCCE (Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics). Not only does HCCA publish this column in its monthly Compliance Today magazine, it continues to provide us compliance professionals with local, regional, and national education opportunities. You must admit — our professional world is always changing, and it is nice to know there is a group that works on our behalf to keep us educated and on top of key happenings, regulations and their interpretations, and the comings and goings of our professional colleagues.
