Does management work?

Does management—the act of managing—work? Could we do away with management as a way of getting things done?

Management works or doesn’t work depending on what you actually do. If you use shoddy management techniques, it doesn’t work. If you use effective management techniques (and evaluate what you do), then of course it works. After all, there’s no other way to get things done in an organization than using management techniques.
