China and Iran move forward with partnership agreement

A leaked document describes an agreement between China and Iran[1] that would involve billions in investment and trade, as well as military cooperation and the sale of discounted Iranian oil to Chinese markets. The agreement, though not yet ratified by the Iranian Parliament nor officially announced by the Chinese, flies in the face of the United States sanctions regime that has been in place since U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
