CARES Act: Changes to the Medicare Accelerated and Advance Payments Program

Many organizations received payments during the pandemic under the Medicare Accelerated and Advance Payments Program (MAAPP). MAAPP was in existence prior to the pandemic, but it was expanded under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The CARES Act expanded the types of Medicare Part A hospitals and Part B suppliers who could receive the payments and the payback periods.
