Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues are rapidly becoming an important topic for compliance professionals. If you think ESG is something that only publicly traded companies need to address, think again. Public companies are pushing ESG expectations down onto their supply chains and other business partners. More importantly, it has become obvious that there are many more stakeholders than shareholders. Employees, customers, patients, board members, and others have taken a keen interest in ESG and are driving expectations for organizations.
